Any one read the this months edition of Taxi “Talk” pages 68 69 by the Reiver . I was disgusted to read this ,vile piece of school boyish, supposed to be humorous Rubbish. This rag, that purports to be a serious trade magazine. Instead of answering some of the issues, addressed by Skull and TDO it resorting to childish ridicule. My attempts to copy this bit of rubbish has failed.I can not even copy the link . It may be just as well. I would not want Skull paying the Reiver a visit. Or perhaps i would .You must be doing something right . If your [edited by admin]... That vested interest properganda machine off . streetcars . |

Not having read it let me guess that it contains yet more nonsense from Wayne Casey the Reiver, lol. Wayne Casey just loves to give TDO its monthly helping of free publicity, in fact he has become quite a source for amusement. Did he find time to write a piece on Mr Gladstone efforts of stealing and publishing a court document on his website? I hope what was said about Mr Skull is fact? Because If it isn't I can see some heavy legal implications for the likes of that magazine? Regards JD |

If what is written is liabelous or defamtary TDO would have to think very carefully before allowing that part of the article which mentions names or alludes to a persons identity, being published on TDO. TDO would not want to place itself in the same position as Taxi Talk if indeed Taxi Talk has stepped outside the law? Regards JD |

It even changes nick names . IT puts (allegedly) in a few times . But its obvious who there, talking about . I dout they would be stupid enough, to commit Libel . But your far more qualified to decide that than i . If any one has been defamed?. I would think so . streetcars . |

In law, names need not be mentioned. If a person can be identified by the inferences and references in the article then they are just as guilty as if they had published the persons name outright. There is ample case law to support this fact. Sussex and TDO sometimes browse that magazine, It will be interesting to read their take on it? Regards JD |

If you want to spend half your life down-loading it it can be found on page 68/69. www.taxitalk.co.uk/pdfs/Taxi%20Talk%20April%202006.pdf Slightly miffed that I didn't get a mention, clearly I am but a bit person.
Funniest bit about all this though is that it's written by someone who tells other people to keep their noses out of Edinburgh's business.

"Childish" I really pity the guy, obviously he is tearing himself apart over the demise of so many restricted authorities. He also has a close affinity with the word "transvestite" I bet readers of that magazine have lost count over the number of times he has used the word in the last six months? Perhaps he has a burning ambition that he prefers to keep to himself? Regards JD |

One wonders how some one, who shows such poor judgment, with this pathetic, infantile, attempt at humour , could be leader of any thing. Perhaps Wayne should consider his position . Was Wayne elected or did Wayne appoint him self ?. With the way the number of LA are delimiting. His leadership is ineffective . Wayne should retire, perhaps he could open a sex shop and satisfy his real passion, perverted sex .Now look what I have done, I am just as childish as Wayne. But I am only a thick scouser not leader of the N T A .Regards .streetcars . |

When he was reasonably anti-restricted numbers (or at least neutral about the subject) I often wondered why he was in the NTA at all, particularly at a senior level, given that the association's main policy was apparently at odds with his own. Then of course he changed tack, but he still uses his column(s) to express his personal views rather than that of the NTA, while you might expect that he'd try representing the views of his members. Then again, perhaps the leadership don't like him speaking for the association, since he has developed into something of a loose cannon, in my opinion at least. Thus a complex character, and one that's difficult to rationalise, but I think the key is in the reason why he changed tack over the most important issue in the trade, which seemed to be because of a personal spat on here. But if something like that can change someone's mind so fundamentally then this perhaps says a lot about the person involved, and I suspect his lack of principle seems to be because basically he craves attention, thus when it wasn't going his way on here he thought it better to seek adulation elswhere and in another way, thus the series of articles, forum etc with TDO being the centre of critical attention. I hope he's happy being hailed as a hero by the likes of the people who frequent his/Nigel's forum, but I suspect that the more open-minded don't take him seriously any more - I certainly don't. Which is a shame, because he is knowledgeable, does have persuasive views and does wield some influence, but there surely comes a time when people can't be bothered sifting the wheat from the chaff and instead ignore him altogether

I read the article, thought it was quite funny. The erudite Jim was a bit miffed about being called slimy. He seems to think they lack imagination, which really goes without saying. They must be worried though. The truth always hurts as they say. Strangely enough I’ve had a couple of concerned owners wanting to no what has pi*** me off. Much to my surprise they understand the argument and where we are coming form but are sh**t*** themselves over de-restriction. One is now selling up. Better the money you have in the bank and all that.
