Three months in jail seems quite a stiff sentence given that there was no actual violence used, but not much background information

Rangers thug kicks off in taxi over radio row

Man admitted the drunken rammy at Paisley Sheriff Court

A Rangers fan has been jailed for three months over a drunken rammy with a taxi driver... after he tried to change the radio station to hear the score of an Old Firm match.

Lout Stephen Stalley called a taxi to pick him up at a bookies on the day his side faced Glasgow rivals Celtic.

But once inside Shelimur Rahman’s cab Stalley completely lost the plot after the driver asked him to stop fiddling with his radio.

The 30-year-old shouted, swore, and threatened the terrified driver, claiming he would wreck his motor.

He got so out-of-control the police were called in.

The details emerged when Stalley, of Beechwood Drive, Renfrew, appeared in the dock at Paisley Sheriff Court to go on trial over the events of March 11, 2018.

He admitted behaving in a threatening or abusive way.

His not guilty plea was accepted to a charge that he did not pay the £12 fare.

The court was told that once inside the vehicle, he began to fiddle with the radio controls to find out the football scores.

Earlier, Celtic had beaten Rangers 3-2 at Ibrox.

Stalley continued to touch the controls throughout the journey, turning up the volume and Mr Rahman repeatedly asked him to stop – but the yob ignored the requests.

The driver said he was going to phone the police and, as he dialled 999, an irate Stalley bawled at him to stop the car before getting out and heading towards Renfrew town centre.

Police investigating the incident were given the mobile number used by Stalley to book the taxi.

It emerged that, later that night, he had phoned the taxi office to shout abuse.

During the calls he swore and threatened the driver, saying: “I’m gonnae kick f**k oot his motor.

“Lucky he never got smashed.

“I will see him. I’ll f*****g smash him.

“I’m hunting him down.

“I’m going to put a brick through his windae.”

Defence solicitor Amy Spencer said Stalley, who appeared in the dock on crutches, had problems with alcohol and his mental health at the time of the incident.

She said he was on crutches as he had broken his leg.

Sheriff Hugh McGinty caged him for three months, reduced from four months as he admitted his guilt.

Defo more to this than meets the eye.

Maybe he was on a suspended sentence, or the offence was committed when he was on license, or on bail for other matters.

Or he has a history for violence as long as your arm.

Indeed. This is definitely him, as reported a couple of years ago:

Drunk Renfrew man's demand as he threatened to stab college students

https://www.glasgowtimes.co.uk/news/159 ... -students/

A RENFREW man demanded "get my lawyer doon here" after he was arrested for threatening to stab college students.

The trouble began when Stephen Stalley entered City of Glasgow College's Riverside Campus and attempted to interact with the students.

Due to his intoxicated state and erratic behaviour, he was ordered to leave by the security staff.

At that point he approached one of the complainers and asked for a cigarette. When he was handed one, he attempted to hug the student but was told: "I don't hug strangers."

At this, the accused became extremely irate.

During his outburst, Stalley threatened: "I'll kill yous. I'll come back and stab yous."

When the police arrived, he was quickly apprehended and transported to Cathcart station. On the way there his abusive tirade continued.

He threatened to kill a constable's family, adding: "I'm going to slash f*** out of you."

When cautioned and charged, he stated: "Get my lawyer doon here."

At Glasgow Sheriff Court, the accused pleaded guilty to shouting, swearing and threatening to stab and shoot three students at the college campus in Thistle Street on January 12 this year.

The 28-year-old also admitted threatening a constable and his family whilst en route to Cathcart police station.

In defence it was claimed that Stalley was going through a troubled period at the time of the offence as he'd had to move house and lost his job.

The accused – who reportedly suffers from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) – has allegedly been assaulted a number of times and chased by a group of males. Due to his anxious state, he began to abuse alcohol.

The defence agent stated that the accused "genuinely struggles with the pressures of real life", but has since been earmarked for the Moving Forward Making Changes programme – a behavioural programme designed to provide treatment for men who have committed sexual offences or offences with a sexual element.

Sheriff Allan Findlay sentenced the accused to a Restriction of Liberty Order in which he will have to remain at home in Beechwood Drive between the hours of 8pm and 7am for four months.

Stalley was also handed a Community Payback Order with 70 hours of unpaid work to be completed within four months.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

This below is almost certainly him as well from 2017, although Stephen is spelt with a 'v'. However, the ages fit, and Stalley is an unusual name. Although there's no specific address given below, Renfrew and Paisley are very close together. There's also the sexual element from the 2018 case, and it's also mentioned in that case that he's on the Moving Forward Making Changes programme for sex offenders, which is mentioned below.

In the comments below the 2018 article someone also claims it's the same guy.

So clearly quite a history, which is probably why he was ranting about calling his lawyer in the 2018 case - he's obvious well versed about that kind of thing.

And the earlier paedophile case is possibly why he claims to have been assaulted by groups of males - vigilantes, presumably.

Surprised the latest two articles don't mention the earlier stuff, though.

Paisley paedo who admitted having sex with a 14-year-girl is spared jail despite grooming another schoolgirl

Beast Steven Stalley, 28, was facing up to five years behind bars after he admitted targeting the teenager but is instead banned from contacting children

A PAEDO who admitted bedding a 14-year-old girl has been spared jail for grooming another 14-year-old.

Sick Steven Stalley, 28, was facing up to five years behind bars after he admitted targeting the teenager on Facebook last January.

But he dodged prison when he appeared at Paisley Sheriff Court today.

The victim - who can't be named for legal reasons - told him she was only 14 but the creep replied: "That don't bother me at all."

Stalley - who posted a picture on Facebook of him wearing a "body off Baywatch, face off Crimewatch" t-shirt, which was also emblazoned with the word "sleazeball" - begged the girl to add him on the popular social media site.

Sleazy Stalley told the schoolgirl she looked "about 18" and said she was "bloody beautiful" and "sexy as f***" as he begged her to add him as a friend.

Despite knowing she was under 16, he continued to send the youngster explicit messages.

In one, Stalley - who went on trial in 2014 charged with raping a schoolgirl but cleared after he told a jury they had consensual sex - said: "You have the hottest legs ever babe would like them wrapped around me right now."

And, in another, he called the child "sexy legs."

But she rejected his advances and told her mum, leading to the police being called and him being charged.

Stalley admitted his guilt over the illicit contact in January this year, pleading guilty to breaking Section 34(1) of the Sexual Offences (Scotland) Act 2009 by intentionally sending sexual messages to the girl through Facebook messenger over a nine-day period whilst she was under 16.

The court heard Stalley is in prison for a Glasgow Sheriff Court case which has a Supervised Release Order attached, meaning he will be monitored in the community once released from custody.

In February, Sheriff James Spy said: "I want a better picture of what's going to be in place for him in terms of his Supervised Release Order.

"I'll consider whether or not I can let you out in terms of this matter or whether I have to give you another sentence."

He was sentenced at Paisley Sheriff Court

And, when Stalley returned to the dock today, he was spared prison.

Sheriff Spy placed him on a Community Payback Order (CPO), which will see him supervised by social workers and placed on the Sex Offenders' Register for 30 months.

His CPO is due to begin in around two weeks when he is released.

The Sheriff also told Stalley to take part in the Moving Forward, Making Changes Programme, which seeks to help sex offenders change their ways.

Stalley was banned from contacting children under the age of 18, told to attend counselling for alcohol and drug abuse, banned from owning any device capable of storing digital images, banned from deleting his internet search history, and is not allowed to own or use the internet "unless prior approval is given" by his supervisor.

But Stalley was not told to carry out any unpaid hours of work in the community - often referred to as the "punishment" element of a CPO.

And his CPO is due to begin in around two weeks, when he is released from that sentence.

In May 2014 Stalley walked free from the High Court in Paisley after bedding a 14-year-old girl he had seduced at a flat in Paisley.

Prosecutors claimed he raped the youngster, who can’t be named for legal reasons, by repeatedly ignoring her pleas to stop once they started having sex in 2012.

The girl told the jury they began having sex but said it became too painful so she asked Stalley to stop.

After her encounter with Stalley she told police he refused to stop and the consensual sex became a rape.

Dr Deborah Wardle, a medical consultant for NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, examined the teen after the alleged sex attack and told the court the injuries to her private parts were among the worst she had ever seen.

But after being told Stalley thought the girl was 16 and stopped having sex with her after she asked, the jury cleared him of all wrongdoing.

Looks like he ran out of lives.

Doubt his time inside will be pleasant.
