Image: West Yorkshire Police/Halifax CourierHalifax Neighbourhood Policing Team officers conducted a traffic stop on the licensed taxi following intelligence being provided to the police that the driver was dealing drugs from the vehicle.
Following a search, the driver was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug due to drugs being found upon his person.
A search of the vehicle and his home address resulted in more controlled drugs being located.
A spokesperson for the policing team said: "The taxi was seized and taxi licensing have been made aware of this incident so they can take appropriate action against the driver.
"A handful of tasks now need to be done in order to gather the evidence against the taxi driver, these include sending the pills for forensic examination to identify exactly what drug it is and sending his phone for downloading, amongst other crucial evidential requirements."
