Man arrested after reported knife-point robbery of taxi driver

Police investigating an alleged knife-point robbery of a taxi driver have arrested a 48-year-old man in connection with the incident.

A man is believed to have requested to be dropped off at a location in Gilt Hill, Giltbrook, near to the retail park, before allegedly threatening the driver with a knife and forcing them to leave the vehicle on Thursday night (April 16).

It is thought he then fled the area in the car, according to Nottinghamshire Police.

The force later spotted the car and moved to stop it in Hucknall.

The car was recovered and police inquiries linked the incident to an address in Awsworth.

The 48-year-old man was arrested in a house in Main Street, Awsworth, on suspicion of robbery. He remains in police custody.

Police are now appealing to anyone who has any information to get in touch with them as soon as possible.
