A screen isn't practical in a saloon and unless it was hermetically sealed it would be of no more use than a driver wearing a mask, gloves and glasses.

And assuming a screen does help, at a rough guess I'd say it would be more about how well it's sealed with the car at the edges than whether it's flimsy plastic or something more solid.

And presumably if there is a problem with airbags etc, I'd guess a flimsier screen would be less problematic than something solid.

That said, think a solid screen might make me *feel* safer, but I doubt if the science would add up as regards actual safety.

What is it with you and “hermetically sealed” ????
If someone was sitting behind you, behind a screen, and sneezed/coughed, do you not think the screen would stop the MAJORITY of the droplets reaching the driver ? Or would you prefer them to sneeze/cough without there being a screen present ??????
I know what I’d prefer.

No..but I also know that the Virus and Germs will still be floating about in the air within the cab scren or no screen or covid or no covid. It certainly wont be absorbed through the back of your napper.
