Among the proposed new charges which would come into effect on September 1, 2020 are: Exclusive Hire For the first 880 yards or uncompleted part thereof - £2.70 For each succeeding 1/11th part of a mile (6am – 10pm and 10pm – 6am and public holidays) - £0.20 For each succeeding 1/11th part of a mile (Christmas/New Year) - £0.30 Surcharges Monday – Thursday 10pm - 6am for the first 880 yards or uncompleted part thereof - £3.70 Between 10pm on Fridays and 6am on Mondays for the first 880 yards or uncompleted part thereof - £3.70 Between 6am – 10pm on Public Holidays for the first 880 yards or uncompleted part thereof -£3.70 Christmas/New Year Supplement for the first 880 yards or uncompleted part thereof - £4.00 Waiting time per 10 seconds (6am - 10pm, 10pm – 6am, weekends and Christmas/New Year) - £0.10 Booking Fee – General - £0.50 The changes also include an amendment to the airport charge which would allow taxi drivers to recoup the full cost of pick-ups /drop-offs should this change during the lifetime of the fare scale and also an increase in terms of the unacceptable mess charge which may be applied from £50 to £100. Recently I've been a bit grumpy when reading articles about fare rises, but as Scottish law says they must consult, and in the past that law has helped the trade, I'm not going to lambaste the trade and council about it. But not sure how much it's actually going to help the local trade. |

We Have a Timothy Stevenson, working for our council he came from a council down south near Leeds or Doncaster, some of you might know him , since his arrival we have hardly had a rise , he makes up figures that Einstein would be proud of ,and then baffles the council with them meaning in the last 6 years we have only had a 15p rise |
