Devon taxi driver arrested after passenger suspected he was under influence of drugs A taxi driver in North Devon was arrested last night after a concerned passenger called police. Officers stopped the taxi in Bideford after the passenger reported concerns the driver was under the influence. The driver was subsequently arrested on suspicion of drug driving. Details of the incident were shared on Twitter, shortly after 2am this morning, by Sgt Steve BJ of the North Devon Roads Policing Unit. Sgt Steve tweeted: "Bideford - North Devon RPU responded to a call from a passenger in a taxi reporting that the driver may be under the influence. "Roads Policing units have stopped a Taxi in Bideford and arrested a male the driver on suspicion of Drug Driving." |
