Well that was largely a waste of time, and a bit discouraging - Martin Lewis doesn't sound as optimistic about an extension than he was, and now thinks it's 50/50 :sad:

And the HMRC chief predictably said that any extension is up to the chancellor :?

These comments made by the chancellor were reported when the scheme kicked off a few days ago:

But he's obviously acknowledging that some people who haven't been affected that much will be cashing in.

So I suspect that if there is an extension then it'll be in a modified and less generous form. Maybe just a decrease from the 80% of profits currently on offer, or maybe tightening up the eligibility criteria somehow :?

I would settle for 60% ,better than nothing and we are all going to need something to help us through it sounds like the government Are going to need to be shamed into doing it

Mine did too, yes it eased the pressure but not the long term concern about what'll be the future of the trade.

Sadly not mine :sad: they have decided to further check my claim which means although approved I will have to wait another week

But I have received a form from the council to apply for business rates relief which I thought they were already deducting :roll:

not bothering am scratching around for whatever money I can scrape together and have tried to eliminate as much business costs as I can just hope can get enough from self employed scheme to get me through. It's all very well borrowing money but it has to be paid back so i'd rather try and not borrow any

yes, I had a conversation with a legal advisor, who, suggested that I probably won't get a bean and that the bounce back loan is my ONLY option !

Any hints as to why that is?

The eligibility criteria seem quite straightforward, unless you have other significant sources of income or are a high earner :-o
