Peperami thief also dodged £86 taxi fare in Cirencester

A SHOPLIFTER who stole items from two shops in Cirencester and refused to pay for a taxi fare has been sentenced.

Seamus Ratcliffe, 21, of Furrow Way, Mickleton, pleaded guilty to three offences when he appeared before Cheltenham Magistrates Court on August 28.

Magistrates heard how on January 5, Ratcliffe stole a Peperami, a snack box and a four pack of beers, to the value of £9 from the BP Garage on Burford Road, Cirencester.

On April 26, Ratcliffe stole food items to the value of £3.08 belonging to Budgens on Chesterton lane, Cirencester.

And on December 29 last year, Ratcliffe travelled from Cirencester to Mickleton before making off without paying the taxi fare of £86.40.

Magistrates ordered Ratcliffe to pay compensation of £9 to the BP Garage, £3.08 to Budgens and £86.40 to the taxi driver.
