Uber Assessing a Potential Purchase of Free Now
• Uber is in the early stages of weighing up a purchase of BMW-Daimler venture, Free Now.
• Uber have expressed interest in the ride hailing app Free Now (formerly mytaxi), with a view of increasing their market share in Europe and Latin America.
• BMW-Daimler could follow other carmakers in scaling back their operations in mobility services.

Our Take
• It appears Uber are looking to further increase their hold of data aggregation.
• This gives Uber the option to pass generated leads through other sources in the short term.
• In the medium to long term, it is more likely that Uber will be looking to service the leads generated through their lead aggregators.

There has been a number of articles on Uber looking to buy FreeNow.

We have a 100 or so hackneys down here on FreeNow, that will become nil hackneys on FreeNow if Uber bought them.
