Nottingham taxi driver arrested after drugs found hidden in carA taxi driver in Nottingham was arrested following a stop and search of his vehicle, police have confirmed.
The incident happened on Saturday, October 17, while officers were patrolling Nottingham city centre.
A taxi driver was stopped and after class A and B drugs were allegedly found hidden in the car, the driver, aged 26, was arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences.
Nottinghamshire Police's Knife Crime team tweeted: "Taxi for one to custody please.
"Patrols around Nottingham City Centre resulted in intelligence-led stop search on a taxi car.
"26-year-old driver arrested for drug supply offences after Class A & B drugs found hidden in the vehicle. Proactive Policing."
It comes on the first Saturday night new Tier 2 restrictions were enforced across the county, including a 10pm curfew on hospitality venues, no household mixing and maximum groups of six people allowed outside.
