Obviously slow news day down Bournemouth way.

And slow policing day as well, presumably, but this one's a bit of an open goal [-X

A TAXI driver received a fixed penalty for "thoughtless, dangerous parking" in Broadstone.

Officers from the Dorset Police No Excuse team spotted the yellow Skoda on the pavement on zigzag lines during a patrol yesterday morning.

The vehicle was in Lower Blandford Road and was blocking the view of a pedestrian crossing.

"What do we need to say to drivers about thoughtless, dangerous parking, other than No Excuse?" said a police spokesman.

"Dangerous parking = fixed penalty."

Illegal? Yes.

Lazy driver? Yes.

Dangerous? Not so sure.

we have 2 sets of zigzags in the town centre and there are probably 20 to 30 vehicles a day park on them but we also have no police based in the town they have to drive 15 to 20 miles to attend any incident so no chance anyone could get caught !

I am trying to find the blog where if someone sends details and time recorded film to police they will prosecute the offender.

Most police websites have a section where anti-social motoring can be reported, and the police will deal with matters in a way they see fit.

As an example Northumberland Police have something like this.
