Sort of agree with him.

Gloucester taxi driver who got Covid-19 calls on families to stop taking group trips to the shops

Gloucester taxi driver Hussain Vorajee has called on people to stop travelling for groups shops after he caught Covid-19.

Mr Vorajee, 45, who has owned Adelaide Cars for three years, spoke out about his “frightening” brush with coronavirus having been bed bound for three weeks.

He installed all the necessary safety precautions in his taxi. He had protector screens fitted from as far back as April in the back of the car, gel machines, applied AntiBac to the vehicle daily and also set up a contactless payment system.

But even this was not enough to stave off the virus. Mr Vorajee began feeling a tightness in his lungs and was experiencing a high temperature. He tested positive for Covid-19 on December 21.

Since he is a diabetic, he had the ambulance service take him to hospital for the night as a precaution and then self-isolated for the next three weeks.

Mr Vorajee said: “It was quite frightening. The minute you know you’ve got coronavirus, you think the worst – people going in to hospitals…luckily I stayed strong.

“I’m diabetic so it affected me a bit more with my lungs. It’s horrible.”

The Gloucester man said that he was disappointed that families were making large group trips to the supermarket. Even though shopping for basic necessities falls under a reasonable excuse to exit ones home during lockdown, he doesn’t believe taking other people along is necessary.

He said: “You only need one family member to go shopping. Especially at time when the government is asking people to stay home. All you need is one person or two people from a family maximum to do their shopping and go home.

"You don’t need to take all your children and your siblings. I saw a lot of family members going shopping.”

More than 16,000 people have now tested positive for coronavirus in Gloucestershire since the pandemic first hit in March.

The grim milestone was reached after 261 new cases were confirmed across the county on Monday January 11.

some local supermarkets are only allowing people to shop singly round here but others it's a case of come on in but if you have a single mum with 4 kids all at home what does she do ? Either don't shop or take them with her
