from SKDC website Quote: SKDC Taxi Driver Restrictions Grant The South Kesteven District Council Taxi Driver Restrictions Grant will provide a "one-off" grant of £500 (under the Council's Additional Restrictions Grant Fund) to eligible taxi drivers who have been impacted by the COVID 19 pandemic. To qualify for this payment, you must meet the following criteria: Hold a current Hackney Carriage or Private Hire driver licence issued by South Kesteven District Council Have been operating since 4 November 2020 as a taxi driver, and held the Hackney Carriage or Private Hire driver licence taxi licence on that date Be resident within the district of South Kesteven The Grant application process is open from 1 – 30 April 2021 How to apply To request an application form, please email: business@investsk.co.uk When you submit your application, you will need to provide: Your bank details for payment to be made – and attach a recent statement to verify your details Your DVLA registered driving licence number Your SKDC taxi licence number Your most recent Council Tax Bill Additional details: Grant income received by a business is taxable. The SKDC Taxi Driver Restrictions Grant will need to be included as income in the tax return of the business. Only businesses which make an overall profit once grant income is included will be subject to tax. So with restrictions a grant of just £500 however less than 30 percent of drivers working in Stamford would qualify which is somewhat unfair because they all pay their licensing fees and they are all badly affected so the fight continues to try and get the council to accept this |

But at least you will be getting something. |

Thr content of the statement is private personal data and should be redacted to which the Council cannot refuse to accept the statement as proof of ownership of that bank account. |

edders23 wrote: Lots of applications gone in BUT someone told me the reason they asking to see our bank statements is that they are going to means test every application so we shall see Payments will be made to successful applicants by the 7th may We only had to supply our account number and sort code. Firstly to verify that it was our account and secondly to pay the money in. The latest round of grants require us to give them our turnover from 2019/20 and 2020/21. This is a good one because the actual figures are very similar but this years figures include the grants that we have already received and all the furlough grants as well. |

edders23 wrote: Lots of applications gone in BUT someone told me the reason they asking to see our bank statements is that they are going to means test every application so we shall see Where's the evidence that it'll be means tested? There's nothing in the above criteria to suggest that, and if it was to be means tested they would have to say so. Your council specifies: SKDC wrote: Your bank details for payment to be made – and attach a recent statement to verify your details As it says, it's just to *verify your details*. And if they really did want to means test it, they'd ask to see a bit more than one current account statement. As Heathers says, it'll just be for verification purposes, and that's what the Scottish Government specified for the grants up here, so 25,000 drivers will have submitted theirs. I sent a pdf version, and just blanked out the transactions, and nothing was said. It's just a bit like the KYC thing the banks use for basic IDing, anti-fraud purposes, anti-money laundering etc - Know Your Customer
