Witness appeal after assault in Bagshot

https://www.surrey.police.uk/news/surre ... n-bagshot/

We are appealing for witnesses after an assault which happened just off the A322 in Bagshot at around 1am on Friday (26 Nov).

A taxi driver had picked up two men and two women in Camberley and was mid-journey when an argument broke out over directions and payments.

As the situation become increasingly verbally aggressive, the driver pulled over in Dukes Covert just off the Bracknell Road in Bagshot and asked the passengers to leave his car.

After they got out, one of the men approached the driver’s side door and punched the driver repeatedly to the head causing facial bleeding and bruising.

The suspect is described as White, tall with brown hair and wearing smart clothing.

The other male passenger is described as White with brown hair and wearing a brown suit. Both women are described as White, had their hair up and were wearing some glitter.

Inspector Jamie Hughes from Neighbourhood Policing Team said: “This was a violent assault on someone who was just trying to do their job.

“We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen two men and two women getting out of a car at around this time and location or if they have any information which could help us with our investigation.”

Interesting that Surrey Police uses a capital for the word White, and also for Black. I'm not keen on over-capitalizing in this way (eg prefer taxi to Taxi), but problem is this particular issue is loaded with political baggage etc.

So for those who think I'm being over-pedantic, some think Black should use a capital (in fact *must* use a capital), but not white.

In fact they might regard White as a 'microaggression', or even racial hate incident, or similar :-o

Just saying, like [-(

But have a read of the likes of this below.

And every major newspaper, universities etc, have their own 'style' guide regarding stuff like this. Not sure if Surrey Police have a policy as regards that sort of stuff, though, or whether it's actually the author's own particularly preference :?

The driver must have known where he was dropping them.

Let's hope the police catch up with them unless of course they have moved homes.
