If nothing else it will wind the existing firms up no end.

Might have even been put up by some local drivers just for that.

the offices aren,t, taking this lighly ,read the first story here
http://www.dwta.info/
according to the new offices website http://www.thebigtaxicompany.co.uk/
35 ops have already signed up, thats pretty good as it only came into existence 6 days ago, there is an option for the 5/6/7 people carriers to pay £14.00 per week and get only the jobs requiring 5/6/7 taxi,s,this could cause problems for all the current offices as this market is big and still growing, some are talking about handing in their sets and working the street along with the £14.00 deal, the main offices charge £75.00 per week for a set so the ops would be £61.00 better of before they even set foot in their cab, the office have themselves to blame for this, there are another 5
people up for ph plates this week, plus two hacks, no doubt all have already been promsed sets

Yes, didn't the new office invite cars to sample the new office while still working with the old ones?

Not a course of action that they were likely to impressed with.

there is more to this than meets the eye, the owners of teles/handys the biggest offices in dundee all aplied for corporate saloon plates, all were objected to by members of the dwta, some who are operating through their office, singling out certain ops wont be tolerated, the offices are only making things worse, many saloon ops tried to join the dwta but were refused, now some want to join the new wav office, in my view the dwta
are missing a good opertunity, one big office ,saloons and wavs ,all £45.00, the ops all shareholders, limited ph, nobody at the top creaming in thousands and all profits put back into the company ,if all the ops in dundee handed back their sets and followed this advice i wonder how many office there would be left?

the dundee taxi offices are fighting back, all offices are now issuing dwta members with an ultimatum, cancel membership of the dwta or hand back your set, this will surely put pressure on the dwta ,the secretary has just resigned and they have no treasurer, but at the same time some have opted to hand back sets, i cant see any new ops joining the dwta, having to put on an expesive cab then joining a association that is going to make you banned from offices wont be that appealing ,the taxi trade in dundee is becoming more divided than ever before, well done dundee council
