Nothing that we haven't heard before, but two similar complaints in a couple of days seems odd :-|

Women alarmed after being 'falsely imprisoned' by taxi driver in Bristol

An investigation has been launched following reports a taxi driver has threatened and falsely imprisoned women in Bristol.

Police believe they have identified a man in connection with the two incidents after the women took to social media to warn other of their ordeals.

Posts circulating on Instagram and Facebook claim a taxi driver 'refused' to let a female passenger out of the car and 'locked the doors.' The post also claims the driver said 's**ts deserved to be killed' and that he 'wished he could take women off to rape and murder them.'

Avon and Somerset Police say they're aware of a post on social media concerning an incident in which a woman was allegedly threatened and falsely imprisoned by a taxi driver in Bristol.

At present, the victim is unidentified and enquiries are ongoing to establish their identity. The victim is asked to make contact with police by calling 101, quoting reference 5222012159.

Don't wish to keep on banging the same drum, but CCTV would have sorted this out.

One of two things would have happened. The driver would be able to show he didn't do this and could move on with trying to earn a living, or the driver knowing he had CCTV wouldn't have said it in the first place.

Unless he is stupid and then he deserves to be removed from the trade.

But if I was a betting man I would say there was a dispute over the fare and what has ended up on social media is utter tripe.
