https://greatermanchester-ca.gov.uk/new ... direction/ Our useless Mayor is now backtracking after protests from all groups affected by the CAZ charging supposed to come into effect this year. The mayor has harped on about the DfT letter asking for a charging zone to be brought in as soon as possible. The signs and cameras are in place across the region. The same letter asks for action to stop ''cross border'' taxis... why has nothing been done about this ? |

One of the MEN journalists tweeted this, so turnout not that good, but 40 is still quite a lot of cars in a protest Nick Jackson wrote: Some 30 taxi drivers from Salford arrived at Media City for their CAZ protest. Some 400 were expected

The protest had at least 150 Taxis and PH taking part. There were 2 starting points.. 1 from Eccles and the other one from Etihad (man city) ground. A lot of Manchester drivers(sadly) didn't participate as they said it was not an official protest organised by a union. The biggest one being Unite. There is another protest on Saturday and this one will include Trucks and Vans as well as others affected. I can see central Manchester at a standstill as there will be many shoppers around as well. |
