Officers investigating the murder of a taxi driver shot dead while working in Barnet are offering a £20,000 reward for information. Bulent Kabala left behind a wife and three children after he was shot multiple times four years ago in what police believe to be a targeted killing.

Bulent, 41, from Enfield, was due to pick up a fare in Barnet at around 11.45pm on Monday, February 12, 2019. When he entered a roundabout on Mount Pleasant at the junction with Edgeworth Road his vehicle was hit by a blue Ford Transit van. As he got out to assess the damage he was shot a number of times at close range before the van sped away. Bulent was pronounced dead at the scene after the bullets hit his head and chest.

Four years later, Bulent's heartbroken family are still searching for answers. Detective inspector Matt Denby, leading the investigation, said: "Bulent was devoted to his family. His wife Sevitch and their three children have been left completely heartbroken and will have to live with that pain forever."

He added: "There are individuals with information relating to this killing and its planning who have not yet come forward. For the sake of Bulent’s family and the community, I implore them to do so."

The Met said the circumstances surrounding his murder suggests he was actively targeted and killed. CCTV showed the transit van, which was on stolen plates, had been following Bulent’s car. The hitman's vehicle was found abandoned on Pilgrim's Close two days later. A £20,000 reward is being offered for information which leads to the arrest and prosecution of those responsible for killing Bulent, who is originally from Turkey. To date there have been four arrests in relation the murder but each person was released with no further actions.

DI Denby said: “This murder occurred four years ago but any information regarding the incident may still be as relevant now as it was then. You may have felt unable to come forward at the time, for whatever the reason. Bulent’s family and I are now pleading with you to do the right thing and come forward, even if you think the information you hold is insignificant. If you feel you cannot speak with the police, then please contact the independent charity Crimestoppers where you can give information 100 per cent anonymously, your call will not be traced.”

Anyone with information in relation to the death of Bulent Kabala can contact the incident room on 020 8785 8099. Alternatively, contact police on 101, or Tweet @MetCC.

A £20k reward was actually offered a couple of years ago, when the driver and his cousin were both murdered within six months of each other - described back then as 'contract killings' 8-[

An appeal has been launched to find the killers of two cousins who were shot dead within six months of each other.

Cafer Aslan, 54, was found with fatal gunshot injuries on Westminster Road at the junction with Bounces Road in Enfield, London, on 23 August 2017.

His cousin Bulent Kabala, 41, was shot dead on Mount Pleasant, near Edgeworth Road in Barnet, on 12 February 2018.

A reward of £20,000 has been offered for information that leads to a conviction.

Both men were of Turkish origin and lived in Enfield at the time they were killed.[...]

That's a lot of cash, which might help someone loosen their tongues.

But I suspect they will want to remain anon. :-$
