There's a few articles today about station drivers doing very little business during the rail strike. Who'd have expected that? Therefore the articles are pretty predictable, and much of the content is about the rail strike anyway. But if anyone feels the urge to read one, the first in the list is probably the most interesting, because the drivers are also having a moan about the fees at the station There are no doubt other similar articles, and there's a few pieces about taxi offices expecting increased demand, and people moaning about fares etc, but I couldn't even be bothered reading them ![]() Wouldn't even go near our own station myself during a strike. You know what it's like - sometimes you can get a mega run when the trains are disrupted, at other times you can wait hours and get jack. I definitely assume the latter these days, but of course that's another thing drivers might tend to get cynical about over the years. Up and down the country there are 100s and 100s of drivers who rely solely on station work, so no trains basically means no takings. Back to lockdown, in a way. That said, there are 365 days in a year, not just the three days currently affected this week. |
