Don't know, Edders, but that one's maybe regarded as old-fashioned these days. Anyway, it's that slow news time of year again. And I'm a bit anoraky about these things, but it's interesting how the Somerset Live website has rehashed the police press release.
Most obviously questionable thing - and consistent with the point above - is that the headline effectively says the women did it, but then uses the more conventional a-word in the text (highlighted), which police didn't use
And for anyone who's not aware, there's a bit of a debate around whether the words black and white (as describing people) should be capitalised.
Unsurprisingly, people calling themselves, for example, 'progressives' (or what opponents might call 'woke') think the word black should be capitalised, but white shouldn't
Consistent with that, Somerset Live has capitalised the word 'Black', but not 'white'
Somerset and Avon police didn't use any capitals at all in that regard, using simply 'black' and 'white'.
But so preoccupied was the website with capitalising the word Black, the sentence the word is in simply doesn't make sense (highlighted).
Likewise, the police misspelling of 'while woman' isn't corrected
And the sentence describing the third person unnecessarily uses the word 'woman' twice (highlighted).
But the word Black has been capitalised, which was obviously the priority
