Echoes of 'driver partners' with the highlighted stuff there. But while I doubt anyone could make a case with regard to Just Eat's 'independent restaurant partners' and employment status, there's a bit of a contradiction between deeming riders as self-employed while claiming to be concerned about micromanaging how they conduct themselves on the road.

A Deliveroo spokesperson wrote:

“The safety of our riders and other road users is a priority. When riders onboard with us, they are required to complete a programme of road safety guidance and we regularly engage with riders about how to keep safe on the road.

"We remind them that they must follow the rules of the road at all times. If a rider is found to have broken the law whilst riding with us, we'll no longer work with them."

Don't know how they can say that with a straight face ](*,)

I mean, if they genuinely held riders to those standards, they'd have very few left :-o

Food delivery bicycles are becoming a menace on Coventry's streets, according to a local taxi driver. The driver, who wishes to be remained anonymous, works in Coventry city centre and drives around the Salt Lane area. And he said that the food delivery bikes are going down the high street the wrong way, mounting pavements, travelling at speeds he estimates to be around 30mph and going the wrong way down one-way Salt Lane. He said: “I had to slam my brakes on the other day when one came down the one-way street. "If you spent an hour on the high street, you would see it yourself they don’t slow down," he said. "The bikes are travelling so fast. It’s an accident waiting to happen."
