Taxi driver attacked by man who then took cab on joyride in Sussex

A taxi driver was attacked by a man who then drove his cab around a car park.

The cabbie was collecting three women from East Preston Social Club in Lashmar Road, Littlehampton, when he was assaulted by the unknown man who leaned into his car to hit him.

The driver went into the social club to seek help and was followed by the man who attacked him again.

He was then hit by a second man inside the social club.

When he left, the cabbie saw the first attacker driving his taxi around the car park before abandoning it and fleeing the scene.

Sussex Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident which happened at around 12.50am on Sunday, May 28.
