most of the six seven seater cabs bought from cab direct in dundee since deregulation have been handed back, the law in scotland allows this once half the payments have been made, the only one,s that haven,t been handed back have been bought by bank loans, the situation now means the offices are no longer taking bookings for six seaters as there is no longer enough vehicles to provide an acceptable service, the cost of the cars seems to be the main problem ,some with early licenses are putting on doblos, others who cant take this option are going private hire, i myself am going to hand my cab back as soon as i get the date from the finance company, with the offices turning back six seater work plus the five year waranty running out after two years , there seems little point running it

whats the score with the 5 year warranty?
i know some drivers bought e7s from cab direct and once it came to 60,000 on the clock that ended their warranty! (that was a good few years ago though) looks like nothing has changed though)
i wouldnt buy from them for that very fact!

The same thing applies to LTI, Why do all these companies do this, they promise the earth until they have you by the short and curlers then turn there backs on you.
Would trading standards help??? or watch dog or do we have to get the government involved, If it says a 5 year unlimited warranty on the advert take them to the courts
Is it any wonder that there are hundreds of owners going bust every year due to this
Cab direct did this to me when I bought a metro from them 9 years ago I was the owner for 5 months and handed it back to them due to the fact that everything that could go wrong went wrong they had it longer than me in that time they said that I had a 1 year unlimited mileage warranty and sent me a bill for a major overhaul that should have been done before I took delivery needless to say I told them where to stick it and there cab along with it.
The best thing I have found is to take a copy of phm or any of the other taxi mags to your nearest dealer and see if he will match the offers most will,They want to boost sales, and if anything goes wrong your right on there door step.
The only place most of the drivers use in the borders is the taxi center and I have not herd any bad reports, 1 of the local garages has the contract to service all there products and he does this at a fraction of the cost you would pay to the main dealers

Id be hunting around for a 5 yr warranty from an insurance company and knocking it off their bill. then let them tell a judge why thet're breaking the contract.
