This has been rehashed by a couple of press outlets, but this below is directly from the Bournemouth Police Facebook page.

Nothing particularly new for anyone who's been in the trade a while, but certainly a sharp enough image if anyone who knows this 'person they want to identify', despite the photo's obvious shortcoming.

We are investigating a racially aggravated assault in Bournemouth and are issuing an image of a man we would like to identify.

At around 11.50pm on Sunday 5 January 2025, a male taxi driver was parked in Holdenhurst Road when a man approached the passenger side of the vehicle while shouting and swearing.

The man shouted racial abuse at the driver, causing the passenger in the taxi to leave the vehicle.
During the incident, the suspect assaulted the taxi driver causing an injury to his eye.

Police Constable Morgan Dew, of Bournemouth police, said: “This was a frightening and unprovoked assault that has had a significant impact on the victim.

“As part of my investigation, I am issuing an image of a man I would like to identify and would urge anyone who recognises him to please come forward.

“We do not tolerate racial abuse and will do all we can to identify the person involved.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Dorset Police at http://www.dorset.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting occurrence number 55250002063. Alternatively, independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously online at Crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling Freephone 0800 555 111.

That's a clear enough picture as you will ever get.

Let's hope plenty of people call in and tell the police who he is.
