A taxi driver will be sentenced next month after he admitted to sexually assaulting a woman in Basingstoke.

Mohammed Saleem, 59, of Nottingham, admitted at a hearing at Winchester Crown Court on Wednesday, January 8, that he sexually touched a woman in Basingstoke on March 23 last year when he did not reasonably believe that she was consenting.

He will be sentenced on February 24.

He will remain on conditional bail. He is ordered not to work as a taxi driver or carry any females except immediate family members in a car.

Saleem, who appeared via a video link, was represented by Jonathan Page.

Christopher Pix was the prosecution counsel.

I suspect part of his bail conditions was to keep away from the area where the victim lives in, and maybe he has family/friends in Nottingham.
