The trade link here is a bit indirect, but obviously she could have lashed out at the driver instead of the other punters Wonder why the driver departed empty, though? I'd guess the other lot weren't really the type you'd want in your car either, as the judge's remarks maybe hint at... And not much specifically about the victim here, and it takes a few paragraphs down before it becomes clear that the victim is also a woman. But another headbanger with a long history, and not much of a 'punishment' Woman slashed pub-goer in neck outside Poole pub A DRUNK woman slashed a pubgoer in the neck with a glass bottle over a taxi dispute, a court heard. Sharnice Summer was told by a judge her actions “could have actually killed someone, and it nearly did”. Prosecutor, Charles Gabb, told Bournemouth Crown Court on January 22 the victim was enjoying a night-out at The Churchill pub in Poole with her siblings and friends at the time of the incident. At around 11pm on March 1, the group went to enter their pre-booked transport when the defendant ‘took it upon herself to commander the taxi’. Summer refused to leave the vehicle, even when told by the taxi driver. After reluctantly getting out, the taxi left without any passengers and the defendant began to “antagonise” the group while holding two bottles of alcohol. Mr Gabb said Summer deliberately broke the bottle on the wall before selecting a piece of glass and lunged towards the group “as if to stab them”. The defendant hit out at the victim’s face, slashing her neck close to the jugular. With blood “pouring out of her”, the victim ran screaming into the pub and passed out with an eight-centimetre injury to her neck. The court heard the defendant had lost her phone during the night, and paramedics ultimately found it in the victim’s pocket while treating her. In a statement to the court, the victim said she cannot cope looking at the scar on her neck each day, adding it is “horrible and a constant reminder” of the incident. Summer has 13 convictions for 25 offences, which are said to mostly include alcohol, physical violence, or both. In 2019 the defendant was handed a suspended sentence for a racially aggravated assault, which was then extended due to committing another assault. Mitigating, Rachel Bailey, said Summer accidentally broke the bottle and was unaware she was still grasping the shard when she gestured her arms. She said the defendant was overwhelmed due to being outnumbered by the group and was swiping to keep her distance. It was said she was struggling emotionally due to seeing an ex-partner and losing her mobile phone. Judge Stephen Climie said he believes there were rights and wrongs committed on both sides, and the defendant had shown genuine remorse. For assault occasioning grievous bodily harm without intent, Summer, 32 and of Tatnam Road in Poole, was handed a two-year sentence suspended for two years. She must pay £1500 in compensation and will be subject to a tagged curfew from 7pm to 7am however, it was not specified for how long. |

Not really clear what the relevance of these photos is, but I suppose that's what happens when you plaster your life all over Facebook etc And presumably the one with the suitcase is the defendant leaving court, but who knows? But they certainly underline that you should never judge by appearances... https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/resou ... s/19002406 https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/resou ... s/19002407 https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/resou ... s/19002414 https://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/resou ... s/19002413 |

Quote: Wonder why the driver departed empty I would have done the same. He got away before the nutty bird did him or his motor any damage. |
