I "could have been killed" umpteen times a day as well. By this, that and the next thing. But I wasn't ![]() Hope the driver's insurance is up to date ![]() Boy, 3, hit by taxi outside school 'could have been killed' https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/li ... e-30882027 The boy's mum was also hit in the back by the taxi A nan said her three-year-old grandson "could have been killed" when he was hit by a taxi outside a school. The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, said her grandson was taken to hospital by his family after being reversed into by a taxi outside Our Lady & St Philomena's Catholic Primary School on Sparrow Hall Road in Walton on January 21. Merseyside Police confirmed they were called to reports of a private hire taxi being involved in a crash with a woman and a three-year-old boy. The boy's nan told the ECHO: “My daughter was collecting her children from school around 3:10pm and was stood on the pavement outside the school gates. "A car was reversing onto the curb beside them, and hit my daughter in the back. My grandson was stood in front of his mother. Next thing, he got knocked by the car and ended up flat on his face on the floor.” The boy was taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital that afternoon, where doctors assessed him for injuries. His nan added: “We had to take him to the hospital. When he got in the car to go there, he immediately fell asleep – we were worried he was concussed. “Thankfully he was OK. He had bruises on his knee but the hospital and us can't say for sure that it was from that accident. My grandson was very lucky though. He could have been killed.” The boy’s mum, who also wishes to remain anonymous, said: “Seeing my son lying on the ground and knowing that I could not protect him has left me traumatised. The incident has left a mental impact on me, as well as physical with a sore back.” A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We can confirm that officers attended reports of a collision in Walton last Tuesday, 21 January. At around 3.40pm, we were called to St Philomena’s Primary School on Long Lane to a report of a private hire taxi in collision with a woman and a three-year-old boy. The boy was taken to hospital to be checked over. Enquiries are ongoing.” |

Nan wrote: “Thankfully he was OK. He had bruises on his knee but the hospital and us can't say for sure that it was from that accident. My grandson was very lucky though. He could have been killed.” So zero evidence he was in any way harmed by the incident? ![]() Mum wrote: “Seeing my son lying on the ground and knowing that I could not protect him has left me traumatised. The incident has left a mental impact on me, as well as physical with a sore back.” At least there's some concrete evidence of PTSD, or whatever ![]() I suspect the real reason they're traumatised/mentally scarred is because there's very little evidence to support a compo claim ![]() |

Other than trying to boost an insurance claim why would anyone go to the press with this story? Rather than being delighted that the kid wasn't seriously hurt, they appear a bit peeved that it won't lead to a bigger pot of gold for them. |

There is not such a vehicle as a private hire taxi the police and press are giving misleading information. |

And we think we've got compo culture bad here - 35 stone female rapper launches multi-million dollar lawsuit against Lyft driver (big Uber rival in the USA) for refusing her service. (Driver worried about 'tires', apparently.) Some wags on twitter saying it's a Forklyft she's needing, not a Lyft ![]() https://x.com/EndWokeness/status/1884246713491492868 |
