The Echo has heard of at least two reports that have been made to the council over the unlicensed taxi operations.
Reports have been made between November and January, a source said.
One person who has reported this to the council told us: “It has become apparent that an individual operates an unlicensed taxi service, specifically providing passenger airport runs.
“This activity raises safety concerns for the community as they are not licenced or insured and affects licensed taxi and transportation providers as they undercut their prices.”
Dorset Police has previously warned that people are risking their own safety by getting into an unlicensed vehicle belonging to someone who has not been vetted.
It previously advised: “We would urge the public not to use the services of people offering lifts on unofficial social media groups and instead book a lift with a licensed and reputable taxi company.”
BCP Council said it could not comment as it is a live investigation.
