Taxi driver charged with drink driving after failing breathalyser test

https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/crime ... st-5023975

A taxi driver has been charged with drink driving after failing a breathalyser test.

Robert Lenox, 64, a taxi driver from Boyneswood Close in Alton, has been arrested and charged with drink driving.

This comes after police received reports from the public that he had been driving whilst intoxicated.

Acting on this information, officers stopped Lenox in his vehicle on Thursday, March 6 and he was arrested on suspicion of drink driving after failing a breathalyser test.

Lenox was later charged with the offence and is due to appear at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Thursday, March 20.

If you believe someone is drink driving, contact the police.

I'd assumed his driving was obviously, er, impaired. But maybe people saw him drinking in the 'spoons and then getting into a taxi. And phoned the polis :-o

That would explain why he was just over the limit, rather hand three times over, or whatever.

And I'd guess that because it was a taxi he got into, some will regard him with particular suspicion. That's kind of why I always think having a slightly anonymous taxi is slightly better.

Like those Tesla taxi drivers who are apparently being bypassed by passengers because of the Musk/Trump thing :-o

And, of course, by the same token a lot of Teslas in the US and elsewhere are apparently being vandalised for the same reasons 8-[
