Not sure if this is a trade article, really, and not clear how this stop came about.

But must have been an, er, interesting experience for the driver :-o

(Would have just used the text of the Facebook post, but this Lancs Live piece includes a bit more background - sound like a right couple of charmers :x )

Two men wanted by police in connection with an assault on a female police officer have been arrested after police stopped a taxi.

Over the last week, Lancashire Constabulary have been "combing the county" to find Kevin King Yates and Reece Murgatroyd regarding the incident in Great Harwood on Thursdy, March 20.

Between 8.05am and 8.15am, in an alleyway at the back of Reed Avenue, an officer was punched repeatedly in the face and kicked while on the floor.

Police said she was not seriously injured and the suspects crossed onto Queen Street before running onto Clayton Street.

An appeal was launched to find King Yates, who sometimes uses the name Damian Hard, and Murgatroyd.

In an update issued on Thursday afternoon (March 27), the force said both men were arrested in a taxi in Burnley.

They are currently in custody.

A post on Facebook said: "Over the last week we have been asking for your help finding Kevin King Yates and Reece Murgatroyd who we wanted to speak to about an assault on a female police officer.

"After combing the county, we left them with no hair to go, and we are pleased to say both men were arrested in a taxi in Burnley this afternoon.

"They are currently in custody. King Yates, 31, has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer, perverting the course of justice, money laundering and on recall to prison.

"Murgatroyd, 26, has been arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer, aggravated burglary of a dwelling, money laundering and assisting an offender.

"Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal."

Suspect he used his mobile to book the cab, and I suspect the police were keeping an eye out for it. Or they asked the cab firms to flag it up if a certain number was used to book a cab.
