Sounds implausible, but of course serious incidents often do :-o

Will be interesting to hear the driver's version, though...

hmmmm... why would a driver start making threats without provocation ?

Why would you do something so stupid unless your brain was seriously impaired through drink or drugs ?

have these "victims" thought it through before going to the police ?

Certainly a very unusual scenario where two males felt the need to jump from a taxi moving fast enough such that one sustained serious injuries, and the threat from the person driving the cab at the time was so imminent that they felt the need to take such a risk :?

Happened towards the end of last year as well - taken a while to issue the appeal, and quite a long time has elapsed in terms of any potential witnesses recalling details etc. Very odd.

Of course, there may be very good reasons why such an imminent threat was maybe plausible enough to justify such actions from rational people, but maybe not a good idea to speculate too much on here :-$

Looks bang in the middle of Sheffield city centre, though, and late-night Saturday, which maybe provides some clues...

Interesting that there's zero information in the official appeal about where and how the car was hired, description of the car/driver etc, which you'd assume the two males would know, and which would be important as regards jogging memories in this kind of regard.

I mean, Sheffield has a big black cab fleet for a start, but 'taxi' in a news release like this could mean anything...

And my point above derives from this in the Sheffield Star's version, which is maybe slightly unusual in cases like this, and again adds to the air of mystery:

The force has been asked to provide further details on the incident, including a description of the driver alleged to have been involved and the car.
