Taxi passengers are being warned of delays - due to cabbies celebrating Eid. City Centre Central Taxis and AlphaGrove Taxis are among the North Staffordshire firms warning passengers of Eid delays. Eid ul-Adha is a public holiday in Muslim countries. The festival begins tonight and runs until the evening of Tuesday 10 June. In a social media post to customers, City Centre Central Taxi states: "We would like to wish all our customers a happy Eid. Due to the high number of drivers celebrating Eid we ask our customers to be considerate with slight delays. We will provide you with a service to the best of our ability as always. We appreciate your patience and trust with our company and we look forward to serving all your taxi needs." Kidsgrove-based Alpha Grove Taxis added: "Please be aware that we anticipate being short on drivers on Friday, June 6, as many of our team observe the joyous Eid Festival. This means our wait times may be significantly longer than usual and availability might be limited. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to your travel plans.
