I'd have actually guessed that there wouldn't be any female drivers out in Dundee at all at midnight last night Female taxi driver hospitalised after ‘assault and robbery’ in Dundee https://www.thecourier.co.uk/fp/news/53 ... ad-dundee/ Several police vehicles attended Forfar Road, near Caird Park, just after midnight on Tuesday. A female taxi driver is in hospital after being attacked by two male passengers. Several police vehicles attended Forfar Road, near Caird Park, just after midnight on Tuesday. Local residents reported seeing “a lot of blue flashing lights” near a bus stop close to Caird Park Stadium. The Courier understands the driver had picked up the passengers in the city centre before the incident. A source said the men asked her to pull over before attacking and robbing her. The extent of her injuries is not yet known, but it is believed she suffered a broken arm among other injuries. Police Scotland say they are following a “positive line of inquiry”. A spokesman said: “Around 12am on Tuesday, November 4, we were called to a report of an assault and robbery of a woman within a car in the Forfar Road area of Dundee. “Emergency services attended, and the woman attended hospital for treatment. “Officers are following a positive line of inquiry.” |

Bizarre video here, which only lasts a few seconds, but might show the scrotes getting into another taxi. Certainly looks like the area on Forfar Road where it took place, with the Shell garage visible in the background. https://www.facebook.com/stacey.brown.9 ... cale=en_GB |

The video is consistent with having been filmed from the bus stop to the right here. You can see the Shell garage signage to the left, and the traffic lights at the Kingsway junction further up the road, both of which are visible in the video. The article refers to a 'lot of blue flashing lights' near a bus stop in this location. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Forfa ... FQAw%3D%3D |

Of course, I was missing the point spectacularly That's the taxi the lady was driving, and that's one of the scrotes in the driver's seat And the type who'll post a video of their exploits online for clicks, and are too stupid to think it through and that it'll go viral

Is there anything lower than two blokes attacking and robbing a lone lady late at night—cowardice of the highest order. I hope the lady recovers and returns to our trade, and I hope the scumbag robbers die of cancer soon. |

A bit more information and a photo on PHTM's Facebook page. Looks like the same location in the photo, so presumably they didn't manage to move the taxi before the emergency services arrived, and decamped on foot. But there's a couple of names knocking about on social media, and apparently they're both well known, so wouldn't be surprised if arrests are reported tomorrow. But by the standards of these things normally, this one seems very, er, odd. They make it look and sound like it's all some sort of social media game, as opposed to the usual late night aggressive drunk. Suspect they won't like the real world consequences this time, though (And, for what it's worth, the logo on the side of the taxi is THE COURIER - it's partly visible in both the photo below, and the earlier video.) SAD TO REPORT: FEMALE TAXI DRIVER HOSPITALISED AFTER BEING ATTACKED & ROBBED AT KNIFEPOINT IN DUNDEE https://scontent.fgla2-2.fna.fbcdn.net/ ... e=69105151 A 57 year old female taxi driver was rushed to the hospital after being attacked and robbed by two male passengers in Dundee early Tuesday morning. The incident occurred just after midnight on Forfar Road, near Caird Park. The driver reportedly picked up the two men who are believed to be in their twenties in the city centre. A source close to the investigation told PHTM that the men asked her to pull over, when one of the men suddenly tried to strangle her from behind, she broke free, opened the door and got out of the vehicle but both men continued to attack her on the street. PHTM has been told that she is thankfully OK but obviously badly shaken. She received several kicks to the head and has a broken shoulder and her leg is in a brace. A Police Scotland spokesman confirmed that the Emergency services attended, and the driver attended hospital for treatment. They added that "Officers are following a positive line of inquiry." All at PHTM wish this brave cabbie a speedy recovery and hope these cowardly thugs are caught quickly. |

Thanks for posting that, Mr Dundee Op. Looks like the crowdfunder is going well, and it's currently at £2.6k, and Tele Taxis have donated £500. And interesting that there didn't seem to be a witness appeal or anything like that yesterday, and the reports just say police 'following a positive line of inquiry'. Which maybe suggests they know precisely who they're looking for, and it's maybe only a question of finding them. |

Was Googling the names the other night, and the one in the driver's seat in that video certainly bears a striking resemblance to the person on that Facebook page: https://scontent.fgla2-2.fna.fbcdn.net/ ... e=69122451 |
