Looks lucky to retain his licence here, particularly with the offence prior to when he was badged, and the non-declaration Taxi driver with two speeding offences allowed to renew his licence https://www.dunfermlinepress.com/news/2 ... w-licence/ A FIFE taxi driver has been allowed to renew his licence despite picking up two speeding offences since 2022. Zeynel Dost was brought in front of Fife Council’s Regulation and Licensing Committee after he had applied to renew his licence for the next three years. This was because the council’s legal team had made a representation because of the latest offences which took place in Dunfermline and Rosyth. Solicitor and council legal team manager, Steven Paterson, explained: “The applicant was granted his licence initially with a warning in June 2018 in relation to a speeding offence on November 11, 2018. “The applicant subsequently received two further road traffic offences in November 2022 and March 2024. These subsequent offences were not made known to the licensing authority as is required with standard conditions of a taxi licence.” Mr Dost told the committee that the first speeding offence was in Kings Road in Rosyth where he was found to be doing 41mph in a 30mph zone. “I was speeding because I was late for an airport hire. I didn’t want to be late,” he said. “The other one in March was exactly the same thing. It was in Dunfermline on Queensferry Road. It was the same speed. “I am trying to be more careful. I know I have speed offences but I am more careful, more slow nowadays. “I am here because of the speeding offences but it doesn’t make me a bad driver. Generally, all all my customers are quite happy. I am a good driver. “Customers are generally happy to be in my car. I am good working with the public. I like to help people.” The board voted to grant a licence for a three year period with a warning and a requirement to reattend a taxi driver training course. |

Don't know these areas at all, but looking at it on Google this looks like one of the roads https://www.google.com/maps/place/Queen ... FQAw%3D%3D And it's one of those where if you move around it jumps from date-to-date, but it looks like a 20mph limit has been imposed recently around this stretch, although presumably it wasn't in place when the offences happened This is from the other side of the road: https://www.google.com/maps/place/Queen ...
