This is a brief post on the 'Essex Police - Colchester district' Facebook page. I suspect maybe the use of the r-word here is incorrect Essex Police - Colchester District wrote: Officers from the neighbourhood policing team have been working with Colchester City Councils licensing team to ensure the safety people being carried in taxi's across the city. Officers have been stopping and engaging with taxi drivers to ensure their documentation is in order, and their vehicles are in a safe state to carry passengers. As a result of one of the deployments one taxi licence was revoked due to the taxi not being fit for the road, and the driver was issued with a traffic offence report.

This is the Daily Gazette rehash, which echoes the use of the r-word in the headline: Colchester taxi 'not fit for the road' has licence revoked https://www.gazette-news.co.uk/news/256 ... -fit-road/ A taxi driver carrying passengers around Colchester had their licence revoked due to the vehicle not being fit for the road. Essex Police's neighbourhood policing team have been working with Colchester Council's licencing team to ensure taxis across the city are safe. Officers stop and engage with taxi drivers to make sure their documentation is up to date and their vehicles are safe to carry passengers. One taxi licence was revoked yesterday due to the taxi not being fit for the road. The driver was issued with a traffic offence report. |
