A Cambridgeshire man who held an Uber driver at knifepoint before stealing his vehicle has been jailed.
Jason Edgar ordered an Uber to Riverside Road, Huntingdon, just after midnight on November 28.
He ordered it from his home in Athlone Close, Papworth Everard.
As the vehicle arrived, Edgar attempted to get into the driver's seat before climbing into the rear and holding a knife to the driver's neck.
The 40-year-old demanded that the driver switch off the vehicle's CCTV camera and ordered him to drive towards Cambourne.
When they got to Ermine Street South, Edgar told the driver to pull over and announced he was stealing the car.
The driver, a man in his 40s, handed over the keys and walked away before calling the police, fearing for his life.
Officers located Edgar in the early hours of the morning in School Lane, Cambourne, where he was arrested.
At Huntingdon Law Courts on March 13, Edgar was sentenced to four years in prison after pleading guilty to robbery and possession of a knife in a public place.
Detective Constable Valentin Radulescu, who investigated, said: "This was a terrifying experience for the victim who feared for his life that evening.
"Thanks to the victim’s quick actions and the fast response from officers, we were able to locate and arrest Edgar.
"I hope this sentence reassures the public that there is zero tolerance for anyone who carries a weapon or threatens violence in our communities."
