Post subject:  Drunk Suffolk woman repeatedly punched driver over refusal

Echoes of the Uber piece posted by Sussex earlier.

And another attempted strangulation by seatbelt :-o

But, unlike the Uber case, this is one of those very un-toxic women. As opposed to the toxically masculine driver, no doubt

Grundisburgh woman to pay £200 to taxi driver she punched

A woman who aggressively berated a taxi driver who refused to drive her home has been ordered to pay him compensation.

The taxi driver had arrived to collect patrons from a pub in Sutton, near Woodbridge, on March 22, 2024, Suffolk Magistrates’ Court previously heard.

Natasha Potter was a member of the party. When the 41-year-old climbed into the back of the cab, the driver realised that Potter was “very drunk”. He was concerned that she might vomit in the back of his car, and asked her to get out, declining her service.

However, at being told this, Potter became “aggressive”.

She sat upright and punched the taxi driver in the head multiple times before reaching out and “strangling” him with his seatbelt, racially abusing him as she did so. The taxi driver’s glasses broke during this assault.

Potter, of Orchard End, Grundisburgh, appeared before the court in March where she admitted racially aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm and racially aggravated criminal damage.

On March 26, she was ordered to pay the taxi driver £200 in compensation, as well as court costs of £85 and a £154 victim surcharge.

She was handed a prison sentence of 24 weeks, suspended for two years, and will carry out up to 35 Rehabilitation Activity Requirement days.
