Not sure how Take Me and Veezu compare in size, but both seem keen on swallowing up the minnows, although it maybe tends to be Veezu's acquisitions which seem to be publicised

But this advertorial from Take Me is very reminiscent of Veezu's - all trying to emphasise the benefits of being part of a bigger network, while underlining retained roots to the 'community' etc.

And, of course, it's all fantastic for drivers.

York City Taxis now part of North Yorkshire's Take Me Home

A York taxi company has joined a major regional taxi network.

The 50-vehicle York City Taxis is now part of the Take Me network, which operates 600 vehicles across Pickering, Malton and Catterick.

Arshad (Ash) Mahmood will continue to run York City Taxis, grow its contract opportunities and introduce the Take Me app to further drive custom at the York Station-based operator.

Take Me says Ash took time to find the right firm to work with, recognising the shared values of looking after drivers and supporting customers. Decisions are also kept local and whilst gaining access to the Take Me booking app, drivers will retain their independence and local routes.

Existing customers, account holders and contract partners can expect the same familiar faces and the same reliable service, now backed by a larger network, both parties say in a statement.

Beyond the day-to-day service, the partnership say the collaboration is about giving back to York, they continue.

Take Me and York City Taxis plan to create new opportunities for local drivers, support accessible and reliable transport for residents and visitors, and continue working with local schools, businesses and event organisers who depend on dependable taxi services.

Take Me also says it will also continue supporting the causes and community ties that Ash and his team have built up over the years, ensuring York City Taxis remains a recognisably local business with a wider network behind it.

They do differ in that when Veezu gets involved, they own 100% of the firm from day one, whereas Take Me often works with firms with a view to taking control in the longer term.
