Not much here in the grand scheme of things, and the result unsurprising :-o

And it initially reads like a new application, but turns out it's actually a renewal...

(Note the word 'grant' near the top, which I'd guess shouldn't be used in the context of a renewal.)

A bit more detail would have been nice, though. And it's one of those pieces that comes to a grinding halt just when you think it's going to disclose some interesting detail, or whatever :?

South Cambridgeshire District Council refused to grant a private hire licence to the man who was disqualified from driving after the conviction

A taxi driver has been refused a private hire licence after being convicted for an incident where people were injured.

South Cambridgeshire District Council’s licensing review panel heard representations from the licensing officer, driver and the driver’s representative.

The name of the driver has not been made public but the panel gave their reason for refusal in the meeting’s minutes. They said they believed “on the balance of probabilities” that he was “not a fit and proper person to hold a private hire driver licence”.

They said he had failed to inform the council about his conviction and disqualification from driving after being convicted and again when he applied to renew his licence.

The panel said they didn’t believe he “was a safe and suitable driver” as he had a “series of convictions and endorsements”.

These included an incident “where parties were injured” and after which he was disqualified from driving, which the panel said “reinforced” that he did not take his “professional responsibilities seriously”.
