The victim suffered a broken nose, one of his teeth was knocked out, and another was damaged, and he also had a cut to his lip which needed six stitches.
Currey, 34, of Adams Lane, Walberswick, admitted unlawful wounding and was given a 14-month prison sentence suspended for two years, a 10-day rehabilitation activity requirement, 60 hours of unpaid work, and a four-month curfew.
He was also ordered to pay £1,265 in compensation to the victim and was banned from contacting him for five years.
Sentencing Currey, Recorder Claire Davies KC said he’d been "set on revenge."
Stephen Mather for Currey, who has no previous convictions, said the offence dated back to October 2020 and his client had had the matter hanging over him since then.
