OK, so this says he was sentenced to 15 months in jail last year ](*,)

Assuming it wasn't suspended, then the earliest he could have been released would have been spring this year.

Of course, the sentence probably doesn't reflect how long he actually spent in jail.

But assuming he served even six months or so, he can't possibly be much more than a year out of jail :-o

Glasgow driver jailed over cocaine supply gets new private licence

https://uk.news.yahoo.com/glasgow-drive ... 47094.html

A man jailed after over £15,000 worth of cocaine was seized from a Glasgow property can continue working as a private hire driver.

Police Scotland objected to Gurtyan Singh's licence renewal bid but the applicant claimed he has turned his life around.

An officer told Glasgow's licensing committee that Mr Singh had been sentenced to 15 months in prison last year after he was concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Councillors decided to grant a private hire car driver's licence for one year — rather than the three requested — and issued a severe warning to Mr Singh.

"I deeply regret this incident, it was my first and only offence. I am committed to ensuring it will never happen again," he told the committee.

Police Scotland said a search warrant had been executed at an address in Glasgow in December 2022, which led to Mr Singh being charged.

An officer said the applicant had been "concerned in the supply of a controlled drug, namely cocaine", which had been measured at 653g and had an estimated value of £15,650. Over £24,000 in cash was also found in the property.

Mr Singh, who said he had been a private hire driver for around 11 years, said he is "a family man with responsibilities" and wanted to return to work to support his wife and children.

"I was in a bad place back then," he said, adding he lost his father in 2017 and his life "spiralled out of control".
