Not much here in the grand scheme of things, but some personal resonance in more humdrum terms - on Friday I was waiting at the station here in Fife, and an academic historian from St Andrews got in, and said he'd been on a trip to Carlisle to see the castle etc

I said I didn't know much about the history, but often read about Carlisle in terms of taxi stuff, and sometimes about attacks on drivers in particular :-o

And, voila, a couple days later and along comes a report along those very lines...

(And that £25 run was a great relief on another 'busy' Friday night when I'd waited at the station for 2.5 hours until 11.15pm - if he hadn't appeared I'd have pulled off from pole after that time, because the next train was another hour away, and I wasn't going to risk waiting another hour maybe to get a £5 local run, or maybe not get a run at all. And then possibly yet another hour until the very last train... )
