A CHARITY organiser was "gutted" after her pink limousine was damaged during a Beaumaris charity evening.

Michelle Taylor and her husband Mark, who live in Rhyl, were hosting a haunted night in the village jail to raise money for the Meningitis Trust. The alarm was raised when somebody noticed the lights of their 21 foot long pink Lincoln town car flashing.

Upon investigating, they found that someone had taken the car, driven round Beau-maris, and then returned it. Forty-two-year-old Michelle, a maternity nurse at Glan Clwyd, said: "Luckily a young couple witnessed somebody running away from the car and called the police, who were swiftly at the scene.

"After taking it I can't believe their cheek at bringing the limo back, it's ludicrous and absolutely bizarre behaviour. I'm shocked, angry and really gutted."

The limo, which Michelle and Mark had owned for three weeks, had been used to transport some of their 30 clients to the event. After being taken, the vehicle suffered damage down both sides from the front to the back.

As a result of the incident, Michelle and Mark have suffered substantial loss of earnings, as the limo was booked out to clients for the week.

However, a greater disappointment for the pair was being unable to fulfil a promise to friends, as they had planned to drive two members of their team to Manchester Airport as part of a wedding gift. The couple, who were flying out to Cyprus to get married, were very disappointed to have to find alternative transportation.

Michelle said: "This is the worst thing, much worse than the loss of business; hopefully this person will realise how this has affected not only myself and Mark, but others as well."

Husband Mark, 39, added: "I can't understand why this has happened to us."

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "No-one has been arrested and forensic enquiries on the car are being carried out.

"Anyone with any information should contact Llangefni Police Station."

I suppose they could always pick the disappointed couple up from Manchester Airport on their return?

I was most impressed that forensics were on the job. Is that par 4 the course in these cases?
