Its worthy to note the price of a barrell is now down to $57. Compare that to the high of $85 + a few weeks ago and 99p a litre, and you have to ask, why has derv only fallen by 8p a litre? :x

Mugs or what?

Que a certain person . . . . .

I would agree with this and untill such times that we as a nation stand up and be counted these prices will continue. I would suggest we all get together and fight this but you only have to view forums to see that this will never happen unfortunately. This is not meant to be derogatory towards anybody just stating how i feel as it affects a very high percentage of us :-|

Kermit, look what happened when the tanker drivers went on strike, everyone agreed with it, but after two weeks people got the ump and the tanker drivers went back to work.
A nation that is in debt and unarmed is a nation that can be controlled.

I just wish I was working in devonshire, I read in last months diesel car mag that petrol was 41.8 and diesel 43.8, all because a company in one town has said they will be the cheapest guaranteed, well there is a tesco and esso filling stations there as well and they are price matching all the way.
If they can do why not all the rest, get on to your MP's they are payed enough so its about time they did some work

God knows what part of Devonshire that was but it wasn't anywhere near my part.

The average around here is about 90.9 for derv and 86.9 for UL

Well the simple answer is that the fuel itself only constitutes a fraction of the price of petrol/diesel - the biggest part is the duty, which I think is fixed, and thus won't vary with the oil price.

Thus even if the price of oil halved the price of petrol wouldn't reduce anything like that.

Anyone know of the progress of this outfit who's aspirations are to convert Taxis to use gas?

biofuels company "Fuelture", which hopes to convert taxi and van fleets to liquid petroleum gas and to supply LPG to them.

Oil fell below $55 a barrell today, the first time in over two years.

Watch those forecourt signs turn back to 78p a litre as it was a couple of years ago.

Then again . . .

Also why is it that electric went up and one of the reasons they stated was high gas and oil prices they have both come down but still home energy bills are high.

At the minute I am payong over £120 pound a month on gas elec for a 3 bed semi. Compared to about £45 3 years ago.

The thing that really hisses me off is, the government said that the most environmentally cars can have cheaper road tax, well if you check you will find that nearly all are diesel, so why persecute diesel users by putting more tax on the fuel :x :x :x :x :x
