HEADLINE: BOYS SAY NO TO PINK
SULKY schoolboys are rebelling against new child car seat laws by refusing to sit on pink boosters.
Scottish Borders Council paid thousands to buy 300 seats for all taxi and mini-bus firms contracted to drive children to school.
They were bought from Halfords and are coloured either blue or pink.
But one Jedburgh-based bus driver said the colour schemes had backfired because if all the blue seats are occupied, boys refuse to sit on the pink chairs.
Scottish Borders Council said: "The colours were not chosen deliberately to choose between boys and girls - it's what we were supplied with. But the seats have covers which could be taken off."
