There appears to have been a great increase in fake £20's this weekend especially around the Gt Yarmouth area - the notes DO NOT have the raised Bank of England and if you turn them around and look at them then the flame is more 9 o'clock than 11! You've been warned - I got offered more than 20 of them over the weekend! Many drivers have probably taken them and they are going to speead out so be careful! A couple of quid spent on a detector pen may be worth while

This is one of the things that I think this forum is absolutely brilliant for, fake twenties have been circulating in Liverpool and nearby areas for the last two weeks. if you look at the shiny bit on the front and turn it sideways you should eventually see a 20 but on the fakes you don't.... |

![]() Once word gets about you would have thought drivers would just not take any £20 notes for a while. I'm f***ed if I would.

![]() Have you had any pikeys set up in your area lately? When our area gets an influx of pikeys we tend to get a plethora of dud money, a few months ago they even started doing £10 notes because we were getting wise to the dud £20's. |

![]() Them pens are no good IMO, the easiest way to test a dud note against a real one is, carry a peice of white paper in your cab, if you get presented with what you think is a dud rub it on the white paper, if no ink appears on the paper then it's a dud, the ink ona real note never dries so you'll be able to see ink on the pape when you rub a real £20 note. |

And how do you know it's a pukka one? There's one thing getting a iffy note for a job, but it's even worse if you give them £15 back.

Should I have refused the £20 fare, the £45 fare, and the £18 fare? So. Hologram with a "20" The Queen (long may she reign) in the watermark. The silver thread, woven through. Elgar's Moustache. And the FEEL of the paper. |
