UK Newsquest Regional Press - This is Essex November 12, 2006 Sunday HEADLINE: Teenager killed by hit-and-run driver Police are investigatin after a 15-year-old was killed by a hit-and-run driver. The teenager was in the carriageway of Clay Hill Road, Vange, when she was struck by two cars at 11pm on Friday. Witnesses told police that the grey or silver saloon that initially ran her over stopped and three men got out and walked back to where the teenager lay in the road. The driver, who is described as being in his 40s and wearing a bright coloured top, was seen crying before the men all got back into the car, and drove off before the police or ambulance arrived. Unfortunately the girl, who died from her injuries at the scene, was run over a second time by a silver taxi. The driver and his passengers are currently helping officers with their enquiries. .................................. |
