ABOUT 5,000 Beijing taxi drivers are giving passengers angel-shaped cards with information on how to prevent HIV to mark World Aids Day today.
China's restrictive communist government is now more open about the spread of HIV than it once was.
State media showed pictures of schoolgirls in Nanjing pinning up red ribbons, the Aids awareness symbol, while in Shenyang nuns posed next to giant ribbon displays.
