Tony since ive been writing for your mag its improved considerably,[no im not saying its down to me] better paper quality printing etc.
The one big failing is its lack of London coverage and distribution down here in the headquaters of civilisation. What you going to do about it?
Terry the Trot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the trouble is Terry with London, they only want to know whats going on in the metropolis and sod the rest of the the trade.

so unless you do a good covering on the london trade then they wont read it,

and the majority of the trade outside london dont want to read about the london trade.
so its almost like catch 22. do you give london coverage and give london a good distribution of the mag and eventually you'd become another london mag, but instead of pushing into london we are increasing the distribution nationwide and maintain what we currently do within london which in all honesty doesnt even scratch the surface of the london trade.
i think without checking my database we are doing tops 3.000 to london inclusive of mailing and bulk drops.

i think and im sure i'll be corrected if im wrong that its about 24.000 taxi drivers in london and as for mini cab i honestly dont have a clue.

Peter rose who wrote for me and is a driver in london. what a nice bloke he is, he totally researches everything he doe's and his knowledge and connections in the trade are excellent.
he gave me contacts for distribution but unless i was going to be distributing minimum 15.000 then it was pointless.

in doing so we would of had to pull mags from other areas and the backlash would of been a detriment to the mag.

in future i will get the mag into london if theres a market place for another mag at that time and it will be at a run of 25.000 per month but not until im doing 37.500 elsewhere.

i can prove our print run and mailing as parklane now have a press stream account so it gives a receipted copy of all mailing etc each month
for December Terry we printed 26.500 direct mailed 18.000 and the other 8.500 went out to licensing offices, bulk drops and trade reps etc.

terry the mailing is the most expensive cost, lets say as an average its 48p 64 page mag you can see in December alone its nearly 9 grand just for mailing, then you have fullfillment [putting mag in envelope] costs of envelopes etc takes each mag now for mailing to approx 55p

the print terry is done on the back of a national daily morning paper and is on a web print.

so its not a matter terry of suddenly just printing a further 10.000 mags
the consequence would mean other areas would suffer.

anyway terry you should know, is there room for another mag in london....?

so terry not in the short term ....lol
unless you and the gmb can fund it and get your ideas and voices out to your members.
you wont be seeing it in london in the very near future in quantities of more than the 3000.

why dont you and GBC do a mag and call it opposing voices of the trade
or OVT for short...?

otherwise you could both distribute mine for free...lol

a better name would be TDO in reference to this site
the problem i'd have is rebranding the mag, the advertisers wouldnt like me changing the name again so soon after the last change when i left and started Press Cuttings Monthly.

I take it this is another "free publication".

Many regional variations offering relevent views and articles ............. all good stuff but an "on paper" version of a website ............. how would the opposing viewpoint be accomodated.

Good luck with it in 2007

B. Lucky :D

How would, say, someone in Gateshead get one in order to respond.
